Nominations for The 111 are an opportunity to recognize and uplift young people across Chicago who deserve to be seen, affirmed, and celebrated for who they are.

The 111, an initiative by Dear Brown You, exists to create intentional experiences where youth feel valued beyond appearances and acknowledged beyond assumptions. Through styling, creative expression, and storytelling, we work to build confidence, strengthen identity, and foster a sense of belonging for 111 young people each year.

By submitting a nomination, you are helping us identify young people whose individuality, resilience, creativity, or quiet strength may otherwise go unseen. Nominations may come from parents, guardians, educators, mentors, coaches, or community members who believe deeply in the power of affirmation and care.

​All nominations are reviewed thoughtfully and confidentially. A nomination does not guarantee selection, and not every nominated child will be able to participate due to capacity. However, every submission is honored with respect.
